Welcome to the 2010 College Football Season
It’s the day we’ve literally waited months for. After Alabama’s defeat over Texas, suddenly the dark days of the college offseason set in and we were forced to endure things like hockey and the NBA regular season.
Now, however, it’s time for football.
The college season kicks off tonight with a slew of fascinating games. Actually, it’s more like one, but IT’S FOOTBALL DAMN IT.
Pitt’s game at Utah is an early gem that could have potential BCS ramifications. Outside of that, we do get to see a handful of very good teams including Ohio State, plus we get to see the debut of Lane Kiffin.
There’s also something about South Carolina’s Thursday night battle against Southern Miss that really tells me the season here. Watching Spurrier patrol the sidelines in his visor has become a season kickoff tradition. And this year the whole college football world will have their eyes on their frosh phenom Marcus Lattimore. If you don’t know him yet, you will by Friday.
Saturday will be one hell of a good time that will start early and end late. Join us on Twitter starting at 7 AM for #TwitterGameday and be a part of the madness. Oh, there will be kegs and there will be eggs.
Until then, relax and enjoy a look back at 2009 as we turn the page and enter 2010.
We made it…
