Cam Newton held a media workout on Thursday in California and the positive reviews are pouring in.
One month removed from his national championship win, Cam showed off his freakish physical skills in front of nearly 50 media members. He moved around, took snaps under center (something he’ll have to battle in the coming months), and he showcased much of what we saw much a whole bunch of last season.
At 6’6” and 250 pounds, Cam is an absolute monster. Throw in the fact that he has an absolute cannon for an arm and it’s easy to see that he was built to kill a casual “shorts” workout. With that being said, it’s impossible to ignore the things he can do with a football in his hands.
CBS Sports writer Bryan Fischer attended the workout and took close to ten minutes of film of Cam in action. My first though, which I feel like I’ve had more than a dozen times now, is the sheer size of him on the field. Much thanks for Bryan for taking the time and sharing it with the rest of us.
That sound you hear in the background in the video below might sound like the California wind, but it’s actually Trent Dilfer’s drool hitting various media members on the sideline.
