Auburn Gymnast Strikes Heisman Pose, Alabama Fans Let Her Hear it

By Adam Kramer   Apr. 05, 2011

The Iron Bowl rivalry has trickled its way onto the floor…routine.

Senior Auburn gymnast Rachel Inniss added a little Heisman flavor while performing at the Tuscaloosa NCAA Regional, and the Alabama-heavy crowd let her have it almost immediately. Rachel, while working her floor routine, struck a Heisman pose en route to a 9.900 (which we hear is pretty good) to take this particular event.

For what it’s worth, Alabama actually took first overall in the event and qualified for the NCAA Championships while Auburn took fourth to fall just short. (Insert sound of a very drunk Alabama fan yelling wildly at a recap here)

And yes, there’s video. For those that who don’t want to take in a full routine, you can see Rachel’s Heisman moment/booing around the 1:15 mark.

Next up on the Iron Bowl rivalry docket: fundraisers, math-a-thons, and chess meets.

For what it’s worth, that’s been part of her routine all season. She didn’t add it specifically for this event.

I wonder how much she was paid for that 9.90 by Auburn. Too bad it didn’t stop Bama from beating auburn for the 103rd time in a row in gymnastics. Outside of college football, women’s gymnastics is the best sport to watch in person.

When will people realize that Desmond did it wrong way while back? The other foot is planted for Pete’s sake… I have yet to see anyone strike the pose that the actual trophy is in…
