Washington Busts Out Helmet Cam For Spring Game

By Adam Kramer   May. 19, 2011

If you pegged helmet cams as your new trend in college football, well, that or transferring, you might just be a winner in 2011.

USC equipped Matt Barkley with this technology for their spring practices, and now it appears others are getting in on the action. Staying in that same conference, Washington’s Steve Sarkisian busted out this technology and threw it on QB Keith Price for their spring game. Quarterback Nick Montana logged a few snaps while filming as well.

“We just have to see if it fits, coach Sark said. I don’t want it to be a distraction for those guys or for the other guys. If there’s some use there where we can utilize some things from it and get better from it, we’ll try it.”

Since I will never take snaps in a meaningful game outside of my yearly Turkey Bowl, I enjoy seeing this raw footage through the eyes of a QB. I’m not quite sure what this will show you as a head coach, but clearly they’re taking all means necessary in hopes of replacing Jake Locker.

From a fan perspective, however, I’m diggin’ this. Hopefully we see more of it in the future.
