Here Comes Football: Week One Lines Posted on BetOnline.com

By Adam Kramer   Aug. 05, 2011

We’ve seen futures, Heisman props, win totals, and other ways to wager your hard earned cash on college football with out real games, but now we actually have a full slate of week one lines on BetOnline.com.

The majority of these games aren’t exactly nail-biters, and you’ll see plenty of massive point spreads below. With that said, there are a few interesting matchups beyond LSU vs. Oregon (+3) and Georgia (+2.5) vs. Boise State.

Oregon actually opened up as a 3-point favorite in this game earlier this year, while Boise opened as a 6-point favorite. Although these lines have moved quite a bit already, I imagine we’ll see more movement before these two showdowns kick off.

We’re almost there, folks. Here are point spreads for college football’s first week of games.

North Texas at FIU (-12)

UNLV at Wisconsin (-31.5)

Mississippi State at Memphis (+24)

Miss. State -24 at Memphis is interesting. I’d like to think that the Bulldogs would win by more than that, but that is a big number on the road. And, speaking of road teams, USF +8.5 at Notre Dame could be tempting, in part depending on Michael Floyd’s status — though the latest word is that Floyd will play.

I’m pretty sure that Illinois plays Arkansas State and not “Army Northern” in week one. Either way, word to the wise, be cautious wagering real money on a Ron Zook team. Even one that’s favored by less than 14 at home against a relative newcomer to the FBS.

Finally, it’s interesting that Houston is favored at home vs. UCLA, but I imagine that’s thanks in large part to Case Keenum being granted a sixth year of eligibility.

WTF is “ArmyNorthern” ??? Why are they a point better against Illinois than Arkansas State? How will the Illini fare when playing two teams at once?
