OH. MY. GOD. [screams are heard in the background]
Bo Pelini decided to dress us as the most terrifying creature of them all this year, and he showed off his costume at Nebraska’s press conference on Monday. Don’t look to closely, I’m warning you.
Without getting too gruesome with details, we believe Bo is going as a human being that can smile and laugh and have real life human feelings and such. Absolutely terrifying.
It’s scary I know, kids, but just keep in mind that this is only one day out of the year that we folks to go great lengths to be character much different themselves. Tomorrow, or at least by Saturday, we can only hope that Bo is back to his old self.
Jet packs, Elton John and Big Ten football: three of our favorite things.
On Saturday, the game ball for the Michigan/Purdue game was delivered to the Big House in high-flyin’ fashion. Eric Scott had the honors of delivering this important pigskin and did so by entering the stadium with a hydrogen peroxide jet pack strapped to his back. Better yet, the rocket man entered the building while “Rocket Man” was blasted over the PA system.
If only Big Ten football could be THIS exciting.
The performance went off without a hitch and we’d gladly support this becoming a regular ritual at Michigan Stadium. On a more selfish note, I now know what I want for Christmas.
How many Penn State fans does it take to will an opposing team’s field goal into the goal post?
Answer: quite a few.
On Saturday, Penn State and Illinois played in one of the ugliest games of the day, and Illinois had an opportunity to tie the game with a lengthy field goal as time expired. The conditions weren’t ideal as it had snowed earlier, the field was far from pristine, and the Happy Valley crowd did their part to bring on an Illinois miss.
Mission accomplished. Penn State prevailed 10-7 to stay 8-1 on the year, while the Fightin’ Zooks’ tailspin continues. And although the game was hardly watchable, the scene in the stadium before and after the kick was quite the scene.
Reason number 7,566,455 that we love college football.
