Updated: The Website Mistake (Not Hacking) of the Century

By Adam Kramer   Dec. 04, 2011

The dream of SEC hackers was too good to be true.

Although it was speculated that LSU’s official online merchandise store was hacked late last night, CNBC’s Darren Rovell has stated that this was indeed a “human error.”

Late Sunday evening, www.lsushop.net featured Alabama gear front and center (screenshot above) and it was clear that something was definitely wrong. Was LSU REALLY embracing this whole Game of the Century: Part Two thing? Perhaps the SEC was a silent harbor for some of the nation’s best computer hackers? WAS IT AN INSIDE JOB?!

The Conspiracies began to surface, but it turns out (so we’re being told) that LSU Shop wasn’t hacked but instead suffered an untimely gaffe. The company that runs the site also runs other merchandise sites as well, so they likely just got their HTMLs crossed. I imagine this will result in a fun Monday conference call.

Regardless, this created quite a stir for those that were awake at this time, and many are wondering how something like this could happen. It’s fixed now, but Alabama had their say for the better part of Sunday night. For story’s sake we’d still love to lean on the hackers angle, because the thought of a group of Alabama hackers is, well, awesome.

To JP who asks, “There’s computers in Alabama?”; there’s is singular while computers is plural. Should read, “They’re computers in Alabama?” Better still, “They’re grammar books in Louisiana?” Perhaps JP is an LSU alumnus, but that shouldn’t be an excuse.

BevoBevo.. you’re an idiot… Let’s teach you a little grammar lesson (from a Louisiana gal):

      Their, There, or They’re?

Their is a possessive pronoun. It always describes a noun.

Note the spelling of their. It comes from the word they, so the e comes before the i.

There is an adverb meaning “that location.” It is sometimes used with the verb to be as an idiom. It is spelled like here which means “this location.”

They’re is a contraction of they are. Note the spelling: The a from are is replaced by an apostrophe.

Examples: Their dog has fleas. (possessive of they)

I put the collar right there. (that location)

There are five prime numbers less than ten.
      (with to be)

      They’re 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7. (contraction of they are)

Maybe it was the other way. That was the Alabama store website that got hacked with the LSU store front ;)

POOR BevoBevo! His writing is not as PURE as he thought. So why not sit back and
PURE his writing is not, so why not
POUR yourself a nice glass of milk and set the glass over: (a) they’re
      (b) their
      (c) there
      (d) thier
      Instructions: Choose a, b, C, or d

      LSU all the way!

This is a bogus Photoshopped image. This never happened! This is also a bogus article!

Why is the media trying to hype another LSU ground and pound beatdown that will happen again to Bama!

Remember : LSU totally shut down Bama’s scoring offensive,…not even a TD the whole game by Bama!

Remember: LSU’s stingy defense NEVER allowed Bama in the RED Zone but once on the 19.

Remember: LSU made Bama kick those 50 plus yard field goals,…thats all the field position that LSU would give Bama!!

Remember the refs took away LSU’s only TD in a great game, …LMAO!!

Honey Badger will once again take what he wants, except this time it will be a BCS crystal ball!

      Fear the Hat!
