Image: Typo in West Virginia paper pegs the Pinstripe Bowl

The Weirton (W.Va.) Daily Times surely didn’t mean for this typo to get into the Sunday paper.

No matter. This accidental bit of word greatness accurately wrapped up the Pinstripe Bowl. The Mountaineers lost 38-14 to Syracuse in Saturday’s game, and really, this typo pretty much sums up the last half of West Virginia’s 2012 season. The Mountaineers started the season 5-0 before entering a tailspin and finishing 7-6.

It’s graphic imagery … but still spot on.

  • Video: The Belk Bowl provides us with the punt of the year

If you tuned into the Belk Bowl to see how the punting battle would shake out, you should probably see someone about that. Also, you left this one very happy.

Duke punter Will Monday ripped off a 79-yard punt that did much more than just travel far. This was like a trick shot on the golf course, and special teams joy for those of you who are into that sort of thing. Seriously, this is a thing of beauty.

This is, without question, the best punt by a punter named Will Monday in a Belk Bowl.
