Roll Twitter Tide: Travell Dixon Commits to Alabama in 140-Character Glory

Arizona cornerback Travell Dixon committed to Alabama on Wednesday night, and he did so and rather outstanding fashion. Dixon, who’s one of the top junior college recruits in the country, took to Twitter (@ONLY_1_TRILL) to spread the word that he was indeed headed to Tuscaloosa.

He didn’t simply post your run-of-the-mill commitment tweet. No, Dixon had fun with this and included teases, photos, a Q & A (really) and more. He is indeed well beyond his years when it comes to social media domination.

As for some of the highlights, here they are.

First, the setup.

After careful consideration on the behalf of my parents &family. I decided that in the best interest Academically and Athletically I chosen.

And next… THE TEASE.

.......................................................um...........um...................lol

And now, making his commitment to Alabama official with a photo. Roll Damn Outstanding Gloves.

Last, but certainly not least, a Crimson Cake. DELICIOUS.

  • BREAKING: Bryant-Denny Stadium To Undergo Midseason Construction

Alabama announced on Wednesday that their stadium would be under construction for at least the next 10 days. This comes as a surprise at this point in the year, but team officials are confident that this “necessary” change would benefit the team sooner rather than later.

“We just needed to get this goal post issue fixed once and for all,” a source told Kegs ‘n Eggs. “Nick Saban approached us with this idea and while we were skeptical at first, we really feel like these changes will help solve some of out kicking woes that have hampered the team in 2011.”

We have obtained a photo of these changes courtesy of Greg Ellison, and it would seem that the new additions are coming along quite nice. The NCAA has yet to comment about these changes with the possibility looming that Nick Saban might indeed fire them.

Here’s a preview of what you can expect to see going forward.

  • A Message To a Crying Alabama Fan

Look, bro. We get it. We know you’re upset. We know your championship hopes were just squashed and you probably paid top coin for those seats. We know it sucks when your team loses like that and that you even wore your finest crimson tie for the occasion. But, bro. There’s no crying in the stands.

Let’s look at the positives. Your lovely lady friend, and she looks rather lovely, is consoling a grown man crying at a sporting event. If that’s not love I really don’t know what is.

So chin up, son. Go home. Rip off that Alabama gear that you won’t be able to look at for three or four days, pour yourself a few glasses of bourbon and kiss that lovely lady friend of yours good night. Feel better? I thought so.

Now, never pull this kind of stunt again.
