If only more Big Ten plays were cued up to Benny Hill.
Backup Michigan QB Devin Gardner came in on Saturday when Denard Robinson went out with an injury. While he did some good things, he also did had one instance where he ran forward for an 8-yard gain and backwards for an 18-yard loss, sideways, and finally ended up with the most exciting negative plays of the season.
As much as we love watching this play, it’s even better when cued up to “Yakety Saks.”
Michigan State defensive tackle Jerel Worthy is wearing his thoughts about the Spartans’ in-state rival on his sleeve. Well, literally.
The junior, who was named to the Bednarik, Lombardi and Nagurski Award Watch Lists, came into camp with a new addition to his left arm this season. Although the entire tattoo may be difficult to see above, Worthy now has a Greek Spartan standing over (actually on) a Wolverine on his body for good. If you can’t recognize the full image, just look for the Michigan helmet near his elbow.
“It was something that I just thought up,” Worthy said. “I was thinking about getting a Spartans tattoo anyway. I threw a couple ideas up in the air and this is what we came up with.”
“… I was with some friends who play for Michigan. I have a lot of guys that I grew up with in the city of Dayton; I was with those guys. It was laughs and giggles. They actually thought it was pretty cool. My strength coach and the other coaches approved of it. I’m going to live with it and go with it.”
For what it’s worth, Michigan and Michigan State will battle it out on the field on October 15th this season.
did he get this tattoo with his big 10 championship ring from last season? Langer
The Big House is upgrading to a much bigger scoreboard.
The final touches are being made, and soon Michigan Stadium will have a visual masterpiece that Jerry Jones would be proud of. The photo above was taken on Tuesday and gives you an idea of just how massive this baby is. And while it’s no doubt appealing, the question remains, however, will anyone ever get to see this obnoxiously large and excellent beauty at night?
Michigan AD Dave Brandon isn’t thrilled about the idea of having a rivalry night game in Michigan Stadium, citing the fact that the “passion and excitement” could be more than they could handle. This basically exemplifies pretty much any Big Ten stereotype you’ve heard over the years, but fact of the matter is plenty o’ night games are played.
